Change a Worker's Pay Method

You can switch between paying a worker by paper check (or through a digital payment service such as Zelle or PayPal) or via direct deposit. There are 2 ways to make this change:

If you want to update the payment method for all future payroll runs:

  1. Go to Employees > Current Employees and open the Employee Profile.

  2. Click on the Payroll tab and select the Access Payroll Details button.

  3. The Payroll Details panel opens. Find the Payment methods section and click Edit.

  4. Select the Payment method you would like to use, fill out any additional fields, and click Save.

If you want to update the payment method just for the upcoming payroll run:

  1. Go to Financials > Generate Payroll > Run Payroll and begin your payroll run.

  2. On the Hours and earnings page, find the worker and click the dropdown under the PAY METHOD column. Select the other pay method.

    This changes the worker's pay method for this payroll run only.

  3. Continue with the rest of your payroll run as usual.

If you choose Paper Check, you are responsible for providing that paper check (or Venmo, Zelle, etc) directly to your worker. We currently do not offer an automated paper check.
